After dyeing eggs we went to our church's annual Easter Eggstravaganza, where we helped out at one of the booth. From there we headed to our Easter celebration at our apartment church. It was a busy afternoon, but a lot of fun.
This year Kenna got to help hide the eggs for the egg hunt at the apartments. Of course, she also joined in on the hunt (that might not have been quite fair, but she didn't get too many eggs, so I guess that's okay!).
After church on Sunday we spent the afternoon at Nana and Papa's house. We got this nice picture of the whole crew before eating lunch:
I can't believe how tall Kenna is getting! In several of the shots we took she is covering up Nana's face - next year she'll definitely have to stand in front of Papa!
After lunch we had our annual family egg hunt. The weather was beautiful, so we actually got to have it outside this year!
Some of the eggs contained candy and others coins. After the hunt the kids all counted their money, one or the other dissappointed to have less than the others. So, they convinced my dad to buy some of their candy. Nana made the observation that Papa bought the candy once to be put in the eggs to hide, and then he bought it again from the kids - I guess that's what grandfathers are for!
At lunch I was talking about a Passover Seder service that we had had at church the Thursday before Easter. A Jewish believer came and told us about much of the symbolism of the Passover meal and how it all points to Jesus. I relayed the fact that the unleavened bread served at the Passover is scored, or striped, and is pierced. This is done so that the bread won't rise. Jennifer cleverly pointed out that they tried to do that to Jesus too, but it didn't work. Amen, Sister!
Praise God - Jesus rose!
