November and December 2010

So this is my catch-up post for the end of 2010. Here are pictures of some of the things that kept us busy in November and December.

Kenna went on a field trip with one of her classes to a ranch where they participated in team building exercises, as well as a ropes course. All the kids were encouraged to try this really tall, "expert" climbing wall:
Kenna made it about half way up the wall and decided she didn't have the upper arm strength to finish, so she took the "easy" way up - still looked pretty hard to me:
I was very proud of her for making it to the top, and even more proud when she overcame her fear and did the zip line to get down!

The boys got to perform the part of the young shepherds in our church's Christmas pageant:

Kenna had her five best friends from school over one afternoon for a Christmas party:

The weekend before Christmas we went with my parents to a rented cabin in Turner Falls, Oklahoma. We had fun decorating a little tree in our cabin, working puzzles, playing outside, hiking at Turner Falls park, and seeing the "Festival of Lights" in Ardmore. Here we are at Turner Falls:

A few days before Christmas we travelled to East Texas to visit with Robert's family. Here's our annual picture of the cousins. (We always tell them we won't open gifts until we get a good group shot and that motivates them to cooperate!)

Christmas Eve at home:

The kids requested a "silly" picture after the nice one:

I spent New Year's Eve in Peru and Robert did a great job planning a celebration for the kids - dinner by candlelight, fireworks, games, and a movie. Kenna even made some special cupcakes - from scratch!
