I'll admit that I wasn't too thrilled about it at first. With the power out for a couple of hours one morning and then off and on several more times that day, temperatures too cold to get out and enjoy playing in the snow, the kids going out anyway and then coming back in after just a few minutes dropping wet clothes everywhere, same kids constantly asking for food...well you get the picture; all this made for a very grumpy momma bear. I just wanted to go to my room and hibernate until it was all over. But, somewhere along the way my attitude changed and I began to embrace the circumstances. In the end, we enjoyed a lot of fun and family time. And the snow really was beautiful!

The kids spent a lot of time playing with the neighbors.

Even Dixie got out and romped in the snow:

This being Texas, we have no real sleds, so the kids used whatever they could find, from pool inflatables (which didn't last long, getting puntcured on the ice) to pieces of cardboard and plastic.
