Summertime!

Summer is flying by here at the Pierce household! We leave tomorrow for our family vacation to the beach with Robert's family - the kids are beside themselves with excitement, I'm busy packing and trying to make sure we don't forget anything (which hardly seems possible considering the huge pile of stuff I've accumulated that's supposed to fit in our van - one of the kids may have to ride on top!), and Robert has been working hard to finish up some things for clients before we leave. I know I'll have tons of pictures to post when we get back, so I thought I'd try to do a quick recap of the summer before we leave. Maybe after vacation I'll get back to posting more regularly...maybe. Anyhoo, here's a photo recap of our summer so far:

Camping trip to San Antonio:

Lunch on the San Antonio Riverwalk:

Celebrating Robert's Birthday:

Eagle Mountain Lake with the Edens:

Ray Roberts Lake with the Ehlers:

Fourth of July at FreedomFest in Aubrey:

Lake Lewisville with the Fayards:

Waterpark in Lewisville:

This past Saturday, the boys were playing in the backyard with a new slip-n-slide and Camden stepped on a roofing staple (almost a year since our roof was redone). It didn't pull out easily, so that meant a trip to the ER:

Turns out it wasn't in too far, so they just pulled it out:
This past week we said goodbye to one of the kids from our apartment church. She's been attending pretty much since we started it four years ago. It was sad to say goodbye, but it was a great time together celebrating:

In addition to all this fun, we've made a few visits to Six Flags (loving our season passes - one of the best Christmas gifts we got this year!), spent time at our neighborhood pool, done a lot of reading, watching TV and playing video games (anything to stay out of the 100+ degree weather!). The kids have also taken on more chores around the house - at this point it's still probably easier for me to do a lot of them myself than go behind them making sure they've done it acceptably, but I have hope that this will get better and I keep telling myself the investment will be worth it!

Now, to go finish up packing for the beach!
