One rainy morning during our beach vacation, we drove to Mobile to see the U.S.S. Alabama. It was a lot of fun and we were so thankful for the rain that kept the temperatures bearable!
The ship is absolutely huge!
We got to climb all through the ship and see all kinds of neat things. No telling how many stairs we climbed...gives me a new appreciation for those who serve in our military aboard ships.
There seemed to be bunks hanging everywhere that there was any space at all. The kids loved climbing on them:
We also got to go into a submarine, the U.S.S. Drum:
We thought it seemed like tight quarters on the ship, until we went in the submarine.
The boys loved all the buttons and levers!
After we finished our tours, we had lunch at Felix's Fish Camp - yummy!
