Something's Missing!

Camden lost his first tooth yesterday!

When I thought of the title for this post I was referring to the tooth missing from his mouth - but it has turned out to be much more appropriate than that. The tooth is actually missing - for the second time!

Things are rarely simple with Camden, so why should losing a tooth be any different? He came running out of school yesterday, so excited about losing his tooth. I asked where it was and he said Mrs. Wallace had put it in a ziploc bag, so I assumed she put it in his backback. We got home and rifled through his backpack. No tooth. I called the teacher and she said that she did put it in a bag, but then gave it back to Camden. He insisted that he put it on the "blue" table, but she didn't see it there. She then invited us to come back up to the school and look for it. So, the four of us trek back up to the school, look around, and don't find it anywhere. Camden is still insisting it was on the blue table. The teacher starts going through some things on her desk that she had taken off the blue table, and low and behold the tooth was in a bag full of counting tiles! I guess someone was cleaning up and thought Camden's tooth bag was the bag for the tiles. Okay, so, crisis averted. Everyone's happy. Well, almost.

They have a "tooth tally" in class and usually the kids get to show their teeth to the class before adding their name to the poster. Camden lost his tooth right at the end of the day so he didn't get to do the tooth tally yesterday. Mrs. Wallace assured us that Camden didn't need to bring his tooth back today, but Camden was having none of that. He didn't want the Tooth Fairy to take it last night, so that he could show it in class today. So, what did he do? He hid the tooth from the Tooth Fairy! Only problem with that is, he can't remember where it is, so it's now missing for the second time! After shedding a few tears, he made it off to school today, sans tooth - and no money from the Tooth Fairy. Gotta hate that!

I'll keep you updated on the missing tooth mystery as it unfolds.
