"Slumber Party"

Whoever came up with the term "slumber party" must not have been talking about a party of eleven year old girls - it's past 11:30 and there is no sign of any slumbering going on!

It's been a fun evening so far. Kenna chose a fruit pizza for her birthday cake this year:

Opening presents:

We had Kenna's friends make flowers from their thumbprints on a canvas that I had painted. Now she has a decoration for her room that will remind her of all her friends.

They also signed their names by their flowers. Here's the finished product:

After dinner, presents, cake and craft time the girls watched a movie upstairs in the gameroom, where they will also sleep if they ever actually sleep.

In addition to the artwork for Kenna's room, the girls decorated totebags that will also serve as their party favors. I added a journal and pen in the front pocket, and they're ready to go when the girls leave in the morning:

There is a lot of giggling and such going on right now. I think I'm going to have to go be the mean mom and start trying to get them to settle down so that maybe they'll be asleep in an hour or two!
